ntended for those who want to better understand why some teaching and educational practices are designed as High Impact Practices (HIPs) in higher education, what characteristics make them effective, and why they are at the center of curricular reform efforts (including here at UND). We'll share current research demonstrating that HIPs promote deeper learning, lead to more positive attitudes towards learning and increase retention and graduation rates (with the biggest gains for historically disadvantaged students).
