The Department of English is excited to invite you to the second talk in this fall’s Virtual Speaker Series in Writing, Editing, and Publishing: “Practical Advice for Poets and Their Poems: A Reading and Conversation with Writer, Professor, and Editor Mary Biddinger.”
All events in our virtual speaker series are free and open to the public.
Mary Biddinger is a writer, editor, and professor who lives in Akron, Ohio. She is Professor of English at the University of Akron, where she is on the faculty of the NEOMFA creative writing program. Poems have recently appeared in Court Green, Poetry, and Sugar House Review, among others. She is the author of seven poetry collections, most recently Partial Genius: Prose Poems (Black Lawrence Press, 2019). She was also the recipient of a 2015 National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Fellowship in poetry. Since 2008, she has edited the Akron Series in Poetry at the University of Akron Press.
