Universal Design for Learning & Blackboard Ally Seminar

How do you know if your Blackboard course materials are accessible? How do you fix it if they are not? There are tools available in Blackboard and Microsoft Office to help with these tasks, and Education resources has invited UND's Teaching Transformation and Development Academy to show us how to use "universal design" in a hands-on session using your own course materials. Universal design for learning principles for learning environments are based on the knowledge that a broad range of human abilities exists. Therefore, the creation of content needs to be made as usable as possible for as many as possible regardless of age, ability, or situation. Designing for a wide range of users from the beginning of the building process can increase usability without significantly increasing the time it takes to build. The results benefit everyone and reduce modifications later when students, instructors or content changes.
