About this Event
The combined UND Voice studios kick off the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the founding and establishment of Grand Forks in a concert featuring the myriad sounds, sights, people, and events of our city. In addition to a wide array of solos and ensembles, essays by students from UND’s department of History and American Indian Studies will be performed with improvised soundscapes created by UND’s contemporary music ensemble, Section 17. From its early days as an important river port in the North American fur trade, through the boom in European immigration, the rise of the railroads, creation of UND, and more, Grand Forks has been home to a diverse and fascinating array of people. Join us to hear their stories told through music and celebrate a big birthday for Grand Forks! The event will be live-streamed at und.edu/music/stream for those unable to join us in person.
