Summer Art Camp: Strolling Through an Artist's Avenue

"Strolling through an Artist's Avenue"
9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Ages 6 - 13
August 5 - 9

Members $200
Non-members $250

Through painting and drawing from life, learning a bit of Art History, and meeting new friends with similar interests campers will fully emerge themselves into the artist’s life! The objective of this camp is to see how an artist follows intuition to find their artistic desires. Each camper will have their own sketch book and cubby to keep thoughts, treasures, and drawings. These elements will be used to develop a body of paintings and drawings unique to each camper.

Mollie Douthit is a painter who resides in Grand Forks. She depicts ordinary, personal situations that contain personally emotive objects or people. Mollie enjoys reading and films immensely, often finding inspiration from these sources. She also incorporates creative writing into the titles of many of her works. She has been the recipient of multiple international painting awards. Recently Mollie has traveled to Vermont for a month long residency at Vermont Studio Center and has plans to attend Jentel Arts Foundation this fall. Mollie’s ultimate goal for Art Camps at NDMoA is for all campers to truly immerse themselves in enjoying and learning about the holistic practice of being an artist.  This might include learning more about art history, improving painting and drawing skills, or taking a walk and seeing what might inspire.
