About this Event
To commemorate the centennial of the 19th Amendment, Dr. Kristin Mapel Bloomberg (Hamline University Professor of Women’s Studies and Endowed Chair in the Humanities) will speak on “‘In the thickest of the fray’: Cora Smith Eaton and the Struggle for Woman Suffrage in North Dakota.” Cora Smith Eaton was one of UND's first graduates and earliest instructors, as well as a state suffrage leader. Preceding the lecture will be a brief virtual ceremony dedicating Grand Forks’ new National Votes for Women Trail historical marker, which was recently installed on the lawn of the Grand Forks County Courthouse.
