To commemorate the centennial of the 19^th Amendment, Dr. Kristin Mapel Bloomberg (Hamline University Professor of Women’s Studies and Endowed Chair in the Humanities) will speak on “‘In the thickest of the fray’: Cora Smith Eaton and the Struggle for Woman Suffrage in North Dakota.” Cora Smith Eaton was one of UND's first graduates and earliest instructors, as well as a state suffrage leader. Preceding the lecture will be a brief virtual ceremony dedicating Grand Forks’ new National Votes for Women Trail historical marker, which was recently installed on the lawn of the Grand Forks County Courthouse.
