SLSA presents Kara Helmig, who currently serves as the Director of Title IX and Clery Compliance at Minnesota State Community and Technical College. Kara also teaches (undergrad) SPRT 330 - Sports Law here at UND, so we will talk about some of the main topics from that class (including employer liability, employment discrimination, labor relations, collective bargaining, workplace regulations, law of agency, governance issues, etc.). At this event, we will also talk about her work to ensure the school follows all of the rules and regulations regarding NCAA Compliance. Before transitioning to M State, she worked in UND's Atheltic Department as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations and Senior Woman Administrator. SLSA's event with Kara will be a great conversation for our members to learn more about legal issues in the NCAA and professional sports. SLSA will be serving lunch.
