DESCRIPTION:The UND community is invited to celebrate Bruce Reeves' retirem
 ent as Assistant Professor and Director of Field Education with the Departm
 ent of Social Work and the UND College of Nursing & Professional Discipline
 s. \n\nA reception will be held in honor of Bruce Reeves on Thursday\, Octo
 ber 31\, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the first-floor atrium of the Northern Plai
 ns Center for Behavioral Research (NPCBR). \n\nBruce Reeves retired in Augu
 st after an impressive 41-year career as a social worker and over 20 years 
 dedicated to teaching in the Department of Social Work at UND. He also serv
 ed as the Director of Field Education for UND Social Work for 18 years.   \
 n\nDuring his tenure\, Bruce guided over 2\,200 students through their fiel
 d internships and has been a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ social justice 
 issues and HIV/AIDS awareness. He also taught graduate electives on Diversi
 ty and Sexual & Gender Minorities and is a frequent presenter on LGBTQ+ top
 ics across North Dakota\, northwestern Minnesota\, and the region. In addit
 ion to his work at the University of North Dakota\, he has been a trainer f
 or several national organizations and has served on numerous boards and com
 mittees. \n\nPlease join us as we honor Bruce Reeves and his significant so
