The UND community is invited to celebrate Bruce Reeves' retirement as Assistant Professor and Director of Field Education with the Department of Social Work and the UND College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines.
A reception will be held in honor of Bruce Reeves on Thursday, October 31, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the first-floor atrium of the Northern Plains Center for Behavioral Research (NPCBR).
Bruce Reeves retired in August after an impressive 41-year career as a social worker and over 20 years dedicated to teaching in the Department of Social Work at UND. He also served as the Director of Field Education for UND Social Work for 18 years.
During his tenure, Bruce guided over 2,200 students through their field internships and has been a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ social justice issues and HIV/AIDS awareness. He also taught graduate electives on Diversity and Sexual & Gender Minorities and is a frequent presenter on LGBTQ+ topics across North Dakota, northwestern Minnesota, and the region. In addition to his work at the University of North Dakota, he has been a trainer for several national organizations and has served on numerous boards and committees.
