Physics Colloquium: A search into the physics for the advancement of aerospace technologies

Friday, November 8, 2024 4 pm to 5 pm

Speaker: Dr. Fenandez-Tous, UND Space Studies

This talk aims at exploring connections between science and technology as they interplay in the field of space propulsion and hypersonic aerodynamics. We will visit some of the most crucial applications in space strategy such as nuclear propulsion and electric thrusters, and will build the foundations for prospective collaborative activities between science and its applications. Let our moto be: “Intellege ut melius solvas”. Our objective is not to provide an exhaustive list of topics in the area. Instead, we will introduce some key concepts and draw on participants’ knowledge and interests in an interactive networking environment. At the end of the session, we expect to consolidate a list of topics for further analysis between interested parties.
