On-Campus Fall 2020 Modified Teaching Discussion

Tuesday, June 30, 2020

Virtual Event

TTaDA, UND Online and UIT are sponsoring a faculty conversation about ways to modify your on-campus courses and/or laboratories for fall 2020 due to reduced number of students allowed for face-to-face learning in the classroom or lab.  Three ways have been introduced within the Fall 2020 On-Campus Planning Guide including 1) flipped classroom modified with smaller groups of students, 2)  hybrid classroom options, and 3) modular courses – possibility for upper-level seminar-style course.  We will send out a one-page description of hybrid/hyflex teaching prior to the upcoming sessions.  Please complete the Qualtrics Survey for which session you would like to attend – there are 2 options:  Monday, June 29 from 11 am – 12 pm or Tuesday, June 30 from 9 – 10 am – both sessions will be the same format and discussion.

This is not a mandatory training, but rather a discussion on possibilities for the classroom and a time to hear what your colleagues are planning.  If time permits, we will also discuss students’ perspectives, student engagement strategies and more.  The sessions will be facilitated over Zoom and when you complete the Qualtrics Survey, you will receive the Zoom URL.  Please complete the survey no later than noon on Friday, June 26.

If you have already made modified teaching plans for fall and would be willing to share your ideas and progress, please reach out to Jenny Reichart, Faculty Development Specialist and Academic Coach (777-0720).
