Lisa Bost-Sandberg Faculty Recital

Dr. Lisa Bost-Sandberg, Instructor of Flute, presents a faculty recital titled "Fire and Flight." The program includes Cirrous for flute with Glissando Headjoint® by Bost-Sandberg, Flames Must Not Encircle Sides for solo flute by Robert Dick, I Will Not Be Sad in This World for alto flute and electronics by Eve Beglarian, Gabriel’s Wing for flute and piano by Judith Shatin, December for solo alto flute by Harvey Sollberger, the whirring dusk for flute and piano by Lisa Bost-Sandberg, and Peony for flute and audio playback by Mary Kouyoumdjian. With Anne Marques Catarin, piano.

 

Bost-Sandberg is a flutist, composer, and improviser deeply committed to contemporary music as well as its rich roots in the classical repertoire. In addition to her faculty position at the University of North Dakota, she teaches at the International Music Camp, tours frequently as a soloist and chamber musician, performs as principal flute of the Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra, serves on the Board of Directors of the National Flute Association, and has recorded on the Albany, GIA, and North Texas Jazz labels.  www.lisabost.com
