As part of the Korus Seminar Series, Aazam Virani, Financial Economist, Corporate Governance, Disclosure & Policy Research, will present a seminar titled “Growth-promoting Bonuses and Mergers and Acquisitions” on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in Nistler Hall, Room 334.

Aazam’s research focuses on corporate governance and disclosure, producing data-driven insights that inform policy and enhance understanding of how these factors influence investor protection, market integrity, and capital formation. Through rigorous economic analysis, he offers evidence-based perspectives on key issues shaping today’s capital markets.

He is currently a Senior Research Scientist in the Office of Economic and Risk Analysis (OERA) at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). Previously, he was as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona. Aazam holds a PhD in Finance from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
