Dr. Vegard Nygaard will present a seminar titled “Exercise or Extra Fries? Behavioral Drivers of Obesity Over the Life Cycle,” on Friday, October 11, at 1:00 pm, in Nistler Hall, Room 334.

Dr. Nygaard received his undergraduate and MA degrees in Economics from the University of Oslo, and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 2019 and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Houston. His fields of specialization are macroeconomics, health economics, public finance, and inequality. He has a decade of experience teaching and in research-oriented positions (pre- and post-PhD), and his research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, as well as being featured in the media (such as the Star Tribune, Brookings, VOX EU, and various blogs online) and in policy briefs.
