Humanizing Zoom: Thinking about Inclusivity in the Virtual Classroom

How do we make Zoom a more comfortable interface for all our students? COVID-19 has highlighted some of the realities our students face in managing technology, be it a digital divide with disparity in access to technology and/or internet access, or constraints around space, from experiencing poverty or homelessness to living in multi-generational households. In this session we will discuss taking into account factors that influence our students’ learning in this virtual environment and learn about Zoom features that can enhance and humanize the classroom experience.
