The UND Voice Studios (Music Department) and the UND Law School present a collaborative musical drama—Voices of Justice—in the historic VandeWalle Court Room. Students from each will perform music and texts they have curated around themes of justice. Some of the work will be original and will interweave music and dialogue to illuminate legal concepts. Anchoring the program is composer and pianist Jodi Goble’s work, Twelve Chairs, which is a setting of US Poet Laureate Rita Dove's 13-poem cycle about personal identity and the quest for consensus in the U.S. judicial system. This one-of-a-kind performance will be live-streamed, and in-person attendees are invited to a reception and Q&A with the artists.
