Green Decisions in Grand Forks: RECYCLING - Humanities ND Think & Drink

What happens to our recycling in Grand Forks? Do the same rules apply to residential and commercial recyclers? What is sustainable, accessible, and efficient waste management in our community?
The UN estimates that the total waste generated globally will reach 4 billion tons by 2050, doubling from the 2 billion tons produced today. With China and other countries less willing to accept recyclables from the U.S., what is our city’s plan to deal with recycling and waste management into the future?
Grand Forks city planners, staff, elected officials, and engaged citizens work hard to plan, manage, and maintain a vibrant city. University of North Dakota faculty research pressing environmental issues and provide policy recommendations to impact our urban spaces and our community’s well-being. Join individuals from UND, city government, and the private sector for a conversation about environmental sustainability with a focus on recycling.
