Join us for a special guest lecture featuring Dr. Purnima Madhivanan, Associate Professor of Health Behavior and Health Promotion at the Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, University of Arizona. A physician-scientist with an MPH and PhD in Epidemiology from UC Berkeley, Dr. Madhivanan is the Founder of the Public Health Research Institute of India (PHRII), which has led global health research and study abroad programs for more than 15 years. Dr. Madhivanan also directs the Global Health Emerging Scholars Training Program in collaboration with Stanford, Yale, and UC Berkeley, and serves as Director of the Fogarty–Fulbright Fellowship Program at the University of Arizona.
Dr. Madhivanan’s talk will highlight topics such as founding and sustaining a global health research institute, building international academic partnerships, and creating global research and study abroad opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. All UND students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend in person or online to learn more about global health and global health collaborations.
