About this Event
Join us for the Second Annual Digital Storytelling Summit, an exciting overnight camp at UND from June 2-6! This unique event, funded by the North Dakota Newspaper Association Education Foundation, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Communication, and the UND Connect Grant, offers 20 high school students the chance to learn how to craft compelling community stories for local clients.
Students will receive hands-on training in digital media editing, news writing, digital media literacy, and community engagement. They'll be matched with one of five local clients—including non-profits, small businesses, and UND research labs—to create digital stories for various platforms.
A highlight of the summit includes a field trip to WDAY in Fargo, where students will explore the broadcasting industry and learn multimedia storytelling from top news directors. Students will stay on campus at UND, enjoy a full campus tour, and work alongside 7 UND undergraduate students who will serve as media coordinators, videographers, and photographers.
Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to enhance your digital storytelling skills and make a real impact in your community! The camp is open to high school students (10th-12th grade) interested in digital media, photography/videography, storytelling, journalism, community networking, and more!
