About this Event
This exhibition features artwork by Rafael Stan, a Visual Arts and Honors student in the Department of Art and Design. Stan's work explores how written language shapes cultural perceptions of humankind's relationship with nature across time. The story starts as early as 4.5 billion years ago, continues in the heart of Zhou dynasty, explores the birth of Buddhism, travels the prosperity of the Qing Dynasty, sinks to the floors of the Atlantic Ocean, travels to the lands of 19th century French fiction, to reach its final stop at the culture of the New York City’s graffiti of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.
