About this Event
Novel Measurement Techniques for Hypersonic Aerodynamic Wind-Tunnel Testing
An often-overlooked aspect of conducting experimental wind tunnel testing is the measurement diagnostics used to collect data. The data we collect in a wind tunnel experiment is only as good as the technique. Because we, as humans, cannot visualize air as it moves, we often forget about the beautiful and complicated, and important fluid structures occurring all around us. Dr. Carson Running's research focuses on advancing the state-of-the-art in experimental aerodynamic measurement techniques via global, optical, and fluorescence-based diagnostics.
