Join us as we celebrate and recognize members of the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines who are retiring or transitioning to new opportunities either this semester or the next.

This event honors their contributions, dedication, and impact on our college community.

Honorees being recognized at this event:

• Barb Anderson has been at UND since 1984, starting in the Office of Admissions before moving to INMED. She joined RAIN in 2007, and became RAIN director in 2021, and will retire in July.
• Julie McGauvran, Clinical Assistant Professor in Nursing, announced she would be retiring in May. She has been at UND since 1994.
• Trudy Crawford began her career in UND Nursing in 2000 and retired last Fall 2025 after serving as a Clinical Instructor.
• Dr. Bret Weber, Professor and former Chair of the Department of Social Work, is retiring in June. He has taught at UND since 2005, and for the Social Work Department since 2007.
• Dr. Karen Semmens, Clinical Assistant Professor in Nursing, began at UND in 2006 as an adjunct before becoming full-time faculty in 2007. She is retiring from her full-time position at the college in August.
• Sheri Altepeter, Clinical Assistant Professor in Nursing, announced she would be retiring in May. She has been at UND since 2012.
• Dr. Mary Jane Rivard has been with UND since 2014 and transitioned to a full-time role in 2019, when she also became Director of the Post-Master’s DNP program. A Clinical Assistant Professor in Nursing, she will retire in August.
• Dr. Anne Bodensteiner, Interim Department Chair and Clinical Associate Professor of Nutrition & Dietetics has announced she will be leaving UND in August. Anne has held a few positions while at UND, but began in a current full-time role in 2019.
• Peter Westre, Clinical Assistant Professor in Nursing, first joined UND in 2019 and returned in 2021 to continue his work in the program. He will retire in May.
• Rachel Wolden, Clinical Assistant Professor in Nursing, joined UND in 2020. She is leaving us in May.
