Backstage Project at the Empire
The UND Department of Music is proud to announce that UND Opera will present The Brothers Gershwin, a Backstage Project at the historic Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 8p.
Audiences will be serenaded by the melodies and lyrics of George and Ira Gershwin, one of the most dynamic duos of American popular music.
“Our last three shows have sold-out. The audience has such a great time singing along, too,” says Dr. Anne Christopherson, Associate Professor of Voice and director of UND Opera. “Not only do the students learn more about the music of their country they also provide a unique and enjoyable experience to a community that has done so much to support UND Music.”
UND Voice faculty, Royce Blackburn and Anne Christopherson, will lead their voice students in this musical journey with Matthew Sebald at the piano. Dr. Joel Pugh, trombone, will make a special appearance as well.
The unique space backstage at the Empire limits seating to 50-55 people.
