The University Writing Program and School of Graduate Studies will be hosting a dissertation writing retreat on Friday, March 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for up to 36 dissertation writers at the Gershman Graduate Center. The dissertation writing retreat is an opportunity for students currently writing dissertations to set writing goals, learn productive writing habits, practice writing strategies, connect with other dissertation writes, and make progress on their dissertation writing.

The University Writing Program will offer:

• Dedicated, structured writing space and time

• Guided goal setting and debriefing

• Resources such as writing manuals for use during the event

• Opportunities to connect with writing center consultants

• Snacks and coffee (provided by the School of Graduate Studies)

This event is designed to support students at any stage of the writing process who would benefit from the structured writing time and space of the event.

All applications must be submitted by Monday, March 2 to be considered.
